So. Last week, my sister gathered up her courage, her kids and her husband and came for a visit. I hadn’t seen her since my brother’s wedding over a year ago. Just she and her daughter were able to come then. I think before that it was a few years earlier in California for 48 hours. Needless to say, we don’t get much time together. With her on the west coast and me close to the east, kids, husbands, school and life are just against us. We talk almost daily, but usually if we want to see each other, we have to rely on Skype.
As you can imagine, I was thrilled when she told me she and her family would be able to come for a visit. As were my kids. So much so that I was afraid for Lucie and Harry!
However, Lucie and Harry held their own against their cousins. There was a lot of fun had and amazingly very few tears. The kids enjoyed crafting together.
We visited The Field Museum:
Uncle Wayne showed off his talent for making the baby smile:
We fed the baby for the first time.
We had a lovely dinner out (yes, with all those kids!), and Caroline and I even snuck in a pedicure.
Overall, it was a wonderful visit. I just wish they didn’t have to be so few and far apart.
What a way to end the summer!

We had a wonderful time!!! I think you need to work on Hawaii and making us a stop on either the going or the coming!! Your kids were so much fun and you and Dan were so great to put up with all of us!!!
