The Drama

March 27th, 2008 · 2 Comments · Adventures, Dads, Family

Oh, the drama of it all!

If you talked to Dan or me yesterday, you know that we were SO EXCITED because it looked very much like the whole transfer policy was being put on a 6-month delay.  It may not sound that great until you learn that we can ask for a hardship delay in our move if our kids are in school.  So… a 6 month delay really puts us through the end of the next school year.

Yipeeeee!  Among a million other reasons, staying is great because Jack gets to stay at his beloved school and Maria gets TBTITWW for kindergarten!  Oh, and Luke gets preschool.  (As a precaution, we registered everyone for school here, so we’re all set.  Just gotta plant the money tree and feed it with Miracle Gro.)

Dan confidently took us all out for ice cream last night to celebrate.

Well, Dan just called.  “Looks like our celebration may have been a bit premature,” he tells me.  Ugh!  Apparently he talked to someone today that should have a grasp on things and that person hasn’t heard a THING about a delay.

So goes it.  Stay tuned in here for the next tidbit of information or conjecture.  And please – keep up those prayers!

You have GOT to be kidding! I’d hoped Dan’s organization would have a little more, I don’t know… organization… than the military. But this is sounding scarily familiar. I’m still praying and keeping my fingers crossed for the delay to be put into effect (or for you all to get stationed in the DC area).

Don’t you just hate not knowing? At least if you knew, you could prepare either way. I’ll pray the teeter-tottering ends soon, and for the better.
