Summer Break

June 5th, 2009 · 3 Comments · Family, Food, Parenting, School

Jack put on dress clothes instead of his uniform this morning, informing me that that is what his teacher told him to wear.  There had been no note from school, but with it being the last day, I figured it didn’t matter much anyway.

As I dropped him off, he told me to pick him up right after mass.  I was doubtful, as “early dismissal” is usally 11:30.  Again there had been no note.  He had, however, been correct about his clothing, so I thought it at least warranted a phone call to the school.  He was right again.  Pick up was between 9:30 and 10.  Not much of a last day.

The house is a wreck.

The kids are a mess.

The TV is blaring.

And apparently the lunch menu consists of cookies and milk.  Not to worry – there are two varieties of cookies, for a well-rounded meal.

Lunchtime!

What's a kid supposed to eat?

Summer has begun.

    I couldn’t resist posting.
As soon as I saw the kitchen with the pantry door wide open, I laughed.

It looked so familier you know.

Mine gets the pop tarts and juice boxes.

I think that kind of cookie has calcium built in. You are all set.

I don’t think Nilla Wafers should technically count as cookies. So I think you are a-ok. They are more like sweetened crackers!
