Seven Kids

Yesterday, my dear friend, Troy (remember - this is a girl, people) had a hair appointment, so I had her three boys over for a playdate.

They had a blast! I mean, there were the normal ups and downs of sibling and friend play. There were a few claimed “injuries,” and some tattletaling (mostly by Maria), but in general I think they had a lot of fun.

It was fun for me, too. Seriously. I always tell people that after three, “what’s one more?” (Or in this case, four.) They entertain one another. Five out of seven are potty trained, so that was pretty easy. Six out of seven can feed themselves and the one that can’t eats like a champ, so that was easy. And, for the most part, they were outside.

Dan came home, followed closely by Troy and Kyle. Instead of rushing off, they all stayed and we fed the kids pizza and then parked them in front of a movie while we ate Chinese takeout. (Yes, I cheated on my diet.) I think the adults has as much fun as the kids! Oh, how I hate to be moving away!

When the tattletaling got to be too much, The Little Boys came in covered in mud (everyone had gone back outside), the mosquitoes started biting and Maria and Jack simultaneously declared their need to poop, the party ended.

We were all worn out, but in a good way.

Thanks for the party, friends!
