Pathetic

Yesterday afternoon, as I was pulling into my driveway, the DHL truck was pulling out. I had to relieve Alex and see Dan back off to work (he had helped with field day at Jack’s school), so I didn’t think much about what might have been delivered.

Once I’d heard about field day and listened to Maria tell everyone about the birthday party we had just returned from, things settled down a bit and I got to work picking up around the house. While walking from room to room, I noticed a large box on the dining room table.

Whoohooo! A package for me! The box indicated that it was coming from FTD.com, which told me there were flowers inside. Before opening the box, I knew they were from my sister. She is thoughtful like that. (I need to take lessons from her!)

Inside the box were a bunch of beautiful tulips in all different colors, and a pretty square vase to put them in. I opened the card, knowing what I’d find, but finding myself slightly surprised. Check it out:

I love it. Ya gotta give the guy credit for fast thinking. He was in a bind (Mother’s Day) and came up with a Mc Gyver-worthy solution. For all of us who’ve been in a similar situation, way to go Dan!
