I was folding laundry and chatting with Sam upstairs. He was back and forth between his room and the hallway and I was in the “extra room.” He announced that he needed to go potty, so I encouraged him to do so. He did. And pulled up his undies and his pants all by himself, then flushed and washed his hands. “I don’t need you!” he told me proudly. “I’m so proud of you!” I told him.
At this point I was walking between the bedrooms, putting clothes away. Sam followed me into Jack’s room and asked if he could have some M&Ms. I said, “sure,” and continued putting things away. As I walked back into the extra room for more laundry, Sam told me, “This isn’t the kitchen!”
Haha. It made me laugh. He’s only 3, but sure makes astute observations.
