…and, heaven help me, they're all under the age of 11

I. Need. Mommy. Juice.

Maybe it was a self-fulfilling prophecy when I donned my Mommy Juice shirt and matching wine glass earrings today.

My blood pressure has been seriously high all day, as our phone/cable/internet service provider has (as is typical) been down.   I’ve had two clients that needed attention and no way to help them.  I could have used my cell phone, but the numbers I needed were on my business’ website.  No way to access that when my internet is down.

So, I spend the ENTIRE two hours of freedom granted me via naps and television today on the phone to Charter, our non-service provider.  They couldn’t fix anything, but they could give me an outstanding discount.  I took that, but really – what good is paying half-price for something you’re not getting?  I could just scream.

The second act comes when I’m fixing dinner and have Jack at the table filling out his Valentine cards.  I hear some very destructive sounds coming from the bonus room above and go to discover Luke ripping our US map off the wall.  Uppercase Living this is not – the paint came with it.   I took the time to banish Luke to his room (as if he cares) and put the map away.  This took just enough time for Jack to take extra advantage of the RED, PERMANENT MARKER he was using to add some decoration to his new and only long sleeved school shirt.  Nice.

Let’s add a little fuel to the fire.

Dan is going to be late.

Alex may not be able to come sit tomorrow.

I have kids throwing toys around the bonus room, a dog jumping obnoxiously at the back door and my youngest clinging to my leg and crying incessantly as I write this.

I’d say at least I’ll get a little break this weekend when Dan is courageously planning to take ALL FOUR children to Grandma and Grandpa’s house, except that I just discovered a note in Jack’s backpack saying that half the kids in the school are out due to the flu.  With my outstanding luck, my kids will all be barfing by the middle of the week and Dan will try going by himself.

Oh you poor thing! Look on the bright side…tomorrow can only be BETTER right?!
Hopefully the flu stays away and you’ll get your well deserved alone time this weekend.
