…and, heaven help me, they're all under the age of 12

Holy

With Lent beginning tomorrow, there has been a lot of talk about who is giving what up in sacrifice.  Maria is giving up peanut butter (this is huge) and Jack is limiting his Minecraft time (also pretty big).  There will be some forced sacrificing, as well:  TV only 3 days a week during Lent.

I (heaven help me and those around me) am giving up beer and sarcasm.  (I just read, though, that you shouldn’t try to give up the things that make you bearable.  Oops.)

In the car on the way to school this morning, Sam announced, “I know what I’m giving up for Lent!  My dish night!!!”

Before I could even laugh, one of my other Catholic little darlings (Luke) chimed in with, “No!  What you should do is do something good and take my dish night!”

“No,” Maria said.  “MY dish night!”

And Jack topped them all with, “You should take both of my dish nights, Sam.  Come on… you’ll be holy!”

The boys are having big debates, should they give up x-box or desserts.

I was going to give up cussing. But work blessed us with a new computer system to do our paperwork. GDMF think kicked my ARSE at first.
