Goings on

So much going on this week – especially today!

Earlier in the week, The Best Babysitter in Tennessee (previously The World, but I can’t do that to Brooke), gave birth to her second little boy, Benjamin.  Congrats to the Traylors!!!

Today, my mom and her good friend are returning from a looooooonggggg trip to Ireland.  Welcome home, Mom!  Can’t wait to hear all about it.

Also today, my sister is closing on a new house out in California.  I’m looking forward to seeing lots of pictures and can’t wait to live vicariously through her with all the decorating and shopping exploits ahead.

Finally…  finally!!! Today!  This morning!  Kyle Remick, our dear friend and father to our Goddaugther Zoë, arrived home after a very, very, very long 15 month deployment to Afghanistan.  How his wife, my good friend Troy, managed to survive, much less do all she did during his absence will continue to amaze me forever.  When Kyle left, she not only had their three young boys to care for, but was also pregnant with Zoë (who, by the way, is now sitting up on her own and practically crawling)!  There’s not enough room here for me to express my admiration for this family.  Not only did Troy handle the separation with grace, but she also went above and beyond during that separation.  She continued to cheer her boys on in sports, she hosted parties for girlfriends, she volunteered at school and she turned her home upside down in preparation for Kyle’s return.

So, welcome home, Kyle and congrats to the Remick family for surviving such a difficult and long separation.  We love you!

I have thought for a while now that Troy should be up for Sainthood. I too am in awe of how she did it all.
