Katey, Jeremy, Claire, Lily and Owen are currently enroute back to their home in Washington, D.C.  And we are full of sadness.

It will very well be quite some time before we see our good friends again.

How nice having them here!  Life with young children is so chaotic… it’s therapy when you can share it with other people.  People that live pretty much the same way you do.  They were so easy and fun to have.    The kids played well together, the parents played well together.

We had three more kids, but two more adults and we got a lot accomplished.  Jack’s brag vest for scouts is now properly decorated; I have a dress – and shoes – for my little brother’s wedding next month; I have a ton of ideas for what to do with this house – inside and out – ; we saw a movie – IN A MOVIE THEATER; we took the train into Chicago and rode the Ferris wheel on Navy Pier; we got Lily’s ears pierced (and she didn’t cry); we ate good food, drank good beer and basically had a blast.

I’m so tired I can barely keep my eyes open to write this, but it’s a good tired.  I only hope they had half as good a time as we did.
