Four = Fun

December 9th, 2008 · No Comments · Parenting

Today was Lukie’s 4th birthday.  I can’t believe it.  Four.

He had school today and we brought donuts.  The Good Daddy got up early and went out in the cold and rain, driving several miles away to get donuts (since TWO DAYS AGO our Dunkin’ Donuts closed.)

The Big Event of the morning was Luke getting to ride in his new Big Boy Booster Seat.  No more carseat for him!  Three down, one to go!  (Assuming, well… you know).

Dan came home from work a little early so we could open some presents, eat pizza, eat cake and open more presents.  Luke was thrilled with everything – the Legos (big boy ones, of course), the fuzzy Crocs, the motorized Caterpilar truck, the Play-Doh, the Super Heros outfit, the hooded fleece sweatshirt.  And, the Cars Slot Car Racetrack.

While dinner was cooking, the boys played with Legos while Maria disappeared to plant herself in front of the TV (go figure).  After everyone had some pizza and a couple of servings of cake (it was chocolate), we put the slot car track together.  This is the one Dan and I bought Luke.  I don’t know if you’ve ever played with one of these, but it is a BLAST.  The kids LOVED it!  I think they all went to bed looking forward to playing again tomorrow.  Even Sam can play, as all you have to be able to do is pull a trigger and cheer.

So, a good day it was.  Lukie went to bed happy.  I’m hoping the happiness continues… I told him today that 4-year-olds don’t get mad.  Ha.

P.S.  Lukie also got several more inches of snow for his birthday.  Dan’s out shoveling now.
