Ewwww…

You know it has to be bad if I’m posting twice in one day.

While I was surfing this evening, I had The Little Boys in the tub. I know, I know. Those of you who have one, maybe even two children, would never leave your child(ren) in the tub for even a second out of your line of sight. But, by the fourth kid, you do tend to relax a little lot.

So TLBs were bathing and having a blast while I grabbed some computer time. Now, just so you know, my computer is maybe five feet from the bathroom and I can hear everything that goes on in there. I pay particular attention to the number of voices I hear. And, I do do a visual check periodically.

This evening, I heard happy, silly voices and an expected amount of splashing. This went on for a good 20 minutes. Suddenly, though, I hear Luke holler for me. There was sheer panic in his voice. Sam was crying. I ran to see what was up.

I found Sam sitting in the tub surrounded by (you guessed it!) poop and Luke in the faaaarrr back corner of the tub, up on tippy toes, plastered against the wall, trying his best to avoid the water and the floaties.

Sam looked at me, cried louder, and proceeded to scoop up a turd and try to hand it to me.

Like I said – ewwwwwwwww! But, I had to laugh. The whole thing was comical, really – especially Luke’s reaction. “I saw his poop coming and I got scared!” He told me.

It may seem unbelievable, but despite all the kids, I’ve never had this happen. I’m sure Sam will be thrilled one day to learn he was the first to do something in this family.

    We’ve been there before.

Poop in the tub. Guess that is going to put a damper on your bathing routine for the kids, huh?

We are only on our third child, but this is what I said to someone who is due to have their first child in July.

He said, “I am so worried that we’ll do something wrong.”

My reply, “Nah…they’re actually pretty tough…those babies. Kind of a natural instinct to survive.”

That was funny…tears in my eyes!

We were on vacation one time an Paul pulled the short straw to give the girls a bath and I was cleaning up the hotel room…about 3 minutes into the bath I hear Paul yelling “bail bail bail” and then three little naked girls come crying out of the bathroom…one of them pooped in the tub and Paul panicked…it would be funnier if I didn’t have to clean it up and then clean them up!

Now that I think about it…maybe he pooped in the tub so that I would have to give them girls their bath! :)

Too funny! Cole poops in the tub too…like almost every other time. YUCK! I swear he saves it just for bath time. Doesn’t bother him though and Parker reacts just like Luke. (I too leave my children in the bath unattended but within an earshot and make visual checks often… and I’m only on #2).
