Okay… I promised pictures, so here they are:
That’s Jack’s anaconda. Did you know that if you look at both width and length they’re the biggest snake in the world? And that the mommies have up to SEVENTY live babies? Thank goodness I’m not an anaconda, although right now it sure feels like there’s more than [...]

This is the big Science Fair weekend at the kids’ school. I never thought I’d be excited about a science fair, but I am!
Jack has taken his project and run with it. He chose to do his project on Anacondas (much to his father’s dismay) and the diorama he created is wonderful. While I think [...]

This, which was posted on Jack’s locker until yesterday, made me cry:
Earlier this week, Luke (my 4-almost-5-year-old) had the sharing bag for preschool. He was asked to bring something related to Thanksgiving. Do you know what he brought?

It’s been a busy couple of weeks. What, with a new niece being born, a new Godbaby being born, Jack and Maria starting a new school, Luke starting a new school and Sam starting school for the first time ever… oh, and Dan’s birthday. Maria graduated from kindergarten today.
In the fall, during the first open house/teacher conference, Maria’s teacher told me, “I’d take a hundred Maria’s.”
Within a few weeks of that, Maria had been “red-carded” several times and started a behavior chart to help keep her in line. Thankfully, it worked and she pretty much sailed through the rest [...]

We have a lot going on as the school year winds down.
Jack has graduated in Boy Scouts from being a Bobcat to being a Tiger Cub. We missed the ceremony due to a conflict, but he has received all his official pins and badges. (Meaning more sewing for me… unless Katey wants [...]

Yesterday morning I had a doctor’s appointment. Thankfully, Bert* gets to use sick time to cover the kids for me when this happens. My appointment was early, so Bert took the kids to school so I could get a shower in beforehand.
Bert has taken the kids to school before, so (despite my control-freak nature) I [...]
