Easter

April 4th, 2010 · No Comments · Holidays, Parenting

Happy Easter!

In the afternoon, despite some rain, Dan took Luke, Sam and Maria to an egg [...]

Bunny

March 27th, 2010 · No Comments · Dads, Family, Holidays

Last weekend (I know, I know.  I’m a little late with my posting.) Dan took the three youngest kids (Jack *gasp* is too old) to have breakfast with the Easter Bunny up at school.  A great time was had by the children, not the Dad, but come on… it’s all about them anyway, right?
Maria, of [...]

Stranded

January 4th, 2010 · 2 Comments · Adventures, Family, Holidays, Parenting, Rougher days

It could be worse… It could be worse… It could be worse…

We’re stranded.  Yes, it’s at my in-laws (who have food, heat and a washer and dryer), but we’re still stranded.  Unable to get home and back to the things we need [...]

This week both of The Little Boys had their Christmas programs at school.
Sam worked hard ringing and singing:

Introduced a song to the audience:

And sat on Santa’s lap:

And Luke was the best Toy Soldier the school has ever seen:

One more half-day of school and Christmas Vacation begins.
Heaven help me.

Santa

December 7th, 2009 · 4 Comments · Conversations, Family, Holidays

Sam (my 3-year-old, in case you have trouble keeping track) just told me:
“It’s a good thing Santa has a naughty list!
…For Maria!”

Halloween, Part II

October 30th, 2009 · No Comments · Family, Holidays

Today, Lukie’s class had their Halloween party, as did Maria’s.  Poor Jack.  Second graders are too old for school costume parties…

Ever since getting home from school, Luke has been digging through his goodie bag.  His favorite thing?

Green

March 17th, 2009 · 1 Comment · Adventures, Dads, Holidays, Moving, Parenting

In honor of St. Paddy’s Day, the kids didn’t have to wear their uniforms to school today.  I had to rush around this morning (’cause, you know, I like to plan ahead), after getting very little sleep last night, trying to find green for everyone.  Or orange.  (???)
I did pretty well.  Everyone had green except [...]
