Last weekend (I know, I know. I’m a little late with my posting.) Dan took the three youngest kids (Jack *gasp* is too old) to have breakfast with the Easter Bunny up at school. A great time was had by the children, not the Dad, but come on… it’s all about them anyway, right?
Maria, of [...]

Last Friday night, Dan and Jack spent the night at The Field Museum in Chicago. It was a scouting event and a ton of boys got to do some really cool stuff late into the night. I haven’t been yet to the museum, but I’ve heard it’s one of the best.
After seeing a few pictures, [...]

Winter Sports

We didn’t get the snow that our friends in the East did, but we did get several inches on Friday night. Our biggest snowfall so far this season.
The kids, of course, were thrilled. Jack, especially. He spent several hours outside this weekend building a snow fort. (Pictures to come.)

Kudos, with Reserve

Dan has received a lot of kudos from friends and family for recently braving the trip to St. Louis with our three oldest children.
And, for the most part, he deserves those kudos. He did have a lot of help at the other end, but hey, he drove all the way there and back with three [...]

Rushing to the Apple Store on Friday night (despite the storm) in glorious anticipation of upgrading to [...]

Maria graduated from kindergarten today.
In the fall, during the first open house/teacher conference, Maria’s teacher told me, “I’d take a hundred Maria’s.”
Within a few weeks of that, Maria had been “red-carded” several times and started a behavior chart to help keep her in line. Thankfully, it worked and she pretty much sailed through the rest [...]

Easter Weekend
April 12th, 2009 · 2 Comments · Dads, Parenting
Well, it looks as though our Easter luck has continuted into this year. It started a few years ago with this* and we really haven’t had the best of Easters since.
Yesterday morning, Luke woke up still feverish and so had to miss the Easter egg hunt in the park. Which means, darn it, I had [...]
