For the first time in a looooooong time, Dan and I are going out tonight. Big date – Casino Night at Jack’s school. Of course, TWBB is coming to watch the kids. Since the event doesn’t start until 7 p.m., I plan to have everyone fed, bathed and jammied before she gets here. The Little Boys will even be in bed by then.
When discussing the evening the other day, Maria asked me, “Can you hurry up and leave right away when Alexandra gets here so we have time to hang out with her?” Ummmm no need to twist my arm there!
On the way home from school yesterday, we were again discussing the Saturday night plans. (I like to prepare my kids ahead of time so they know exactly what to expect.) Want to know what Jack and Maria’s biggest concern was? Whether or not Alexandra would know what prayers to say at bedtime. I told them that they should say the prayers themselves, since they know them so well (and they do!). [Surely this is earning me some points up above? Of course, I figure I still have a long way to go before I'm in the black.]
Shameless plug:
Part of Casino Night includes a silent auction for which I donated a few Uppercase Living items. They turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself. Here’s one of them (thanks, Mom, for your bow tying expertise!)

I just made Jack say the prayers. That solved that! Maria was probably tramatized from the last time I babysat at night, I didn’t know the right prayer.
