FINALLY!!!!! Dan has his assignment. He’ll be working in downtown Chicago, so that leaves us wide open as far as where to live. I think we’ve seen around 35 houses so far and more to come this afternoon and tomorrow!

House Hunting Day 2
July 15th, 2008 · No Comments · Parenting
So far, today’s house hunting adventure is going quite a bit better than yesterday. We’re seeing more homes that we like and we’ve only had one accident. Luke was playing around in the finished basement of a home and tripped, landing smack on the edge of a door with his face. He now has two [...]

Finally…

No. Of course we don’t know WHERE yet. I mean, why on earth would they want to tell us? Finally, though, we’re in Chicago. Not permanently. And certainly not in a house, but still. This is the beginning. Finally. The hotel here is bigger, newer, has a kick-ass free breakfast and is less expensive than [...]

To see all of The Lost Photos, scroll down a little and click the Flickr link on the left side of this page. There are a variety – photos of my kids with Troy’s kids, our good-bye with the DeLeeuw Family, Maddog’s party, Sam’s birthday, etc. These are all the photos (minus the bad ones) [...]

The Good and The Bad

Well, I don’t have to clean my own towels. And I get to borrow movies for free. Then there’s… ummmm… well, nothing else I can think of at the moment. Oh, I know. I can wash three loads of laundry all at the same time. For free, too! That’s pretty exciting. On the flip side, [...]

Six Weeks

Six weeks to Chicago? Nope. Six more weeks of hotel living? I hope not. Six weeks until we get our assignment? Better not be. Nope. Six weeks… to 100 push ups. Unfortunately, my lovely cousin Gwen pointed out to me that my friend Liz’s blog made mention of the push up program. Gwen said she [...]

Dinner out
July 8th, 2008 · 4 Comments · Parenting
I don’t know how much more I can take. I just came from dinner at Cracker Barrel with my lovely little family. What a God-awful nightmare. Let’s start with the pre-celebration. Jack, in a strange attempt to be funny, called his dad an idiot. That, of course, required a taste of soap, which resulted in [...]

Oh! Happy day!

No… it’s not that. (A month later, we STILL don’t know what part of Chicago we’re going to. But, for now, let’s get off that nasty subject.) It’s a HAPPY DAY because my mom found my missing camera!! No – it wasn’t my kick ass Nikon DSL that I lost, thank God, but it was [...]

The Clampets Cont’d
July 4th, 2008 · 1 Comment · Adventures, Family, Food, Parenting, School
Okay. So. After a VERY long night of traveling, we all slept in at our “hometel,” as Lukie has come to call our current place of residence. We needed breakfast. I suggested donuts and Dan said he’d prefer the Cracker Barrel. Fine by me. After getting the little ones rounded up, dressed, shod, etc., we [...]

We’re in Texas. Finally, I can blog about it. We’re here in Austin, TX for my Dad’s surprise 70th birthday party, of which I’ll blog about at a later date. Right now, I have to tell you about a little side trip we took to Dallas. We arrived in Austin LATE Friday night. My Dad’s [...]
